What is Vimshottari Dasha?
Vimshottari Dasha is a 120-year planetary timeline that shows which planet governs each period of your life.
Vimshottari Dasha is the most widely used timing system in Vedic astrology. It divides life into major periods (Mahadashas) ruled by the nine planets, totalling 120 years, then subdivides each into Antardashas.
How it starts
The sequence begins from your birth Nakshatra, whose ruling planet determines the first Mahadasha and how much of it was already elapsed at birth (the dasha balance).
- Ketu 7 years, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7,
- Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19, Mercury 17 years.
